New Executive Director

 Alan Bezzant has joined the PKFI directorate as Executive Director. His role is to help the network operate efficiently and effectively to meet the evolving needs of member firms and to ensure that the international board�s policies are fully implemented to achieve the desired strategic goals. Alan, who is English and an engineering graduate, is based in the main International office in London, and has spent most of his career working in international business environments across several continents.

IFRS Support

Abdul Islam has joined PKF International as a Technical Senior Manager to support member firms on IFRS issues and to initiate and develop resources to support member firms with IFRS technical matters. Abdul has joined from Ernst & Young technical accounting advisory where he was responsible for providing technical accounting advice to a variety of entities. At E&Y Abdul was also involved in supporting the international practice in setting up a shared global IFRS resource tool, with templates to help clients convert to IFRS, quarterly IFRS update memoranda and training materials on IFRS conversion. A Strategic Merger For PKF Kenya

The partners of PKF Kenya and Grant Thornton, Kenya announced the merger of the two firms with effect from 1 January 2012. Grant Thornton, Kenya has been in operation since 1937 (74 years) while PKF Kenya since 1964 (47 years).The merged firms, which will continue business under the name of PKF Kenya, will have eight offices spread across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda with 25 partners and 490 staff.

Key Unfpa Contracts For PKF Jordan

PKF Jordan has won two major contracts with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The first assignment is to deliver a micro-assessment of the United Nations in the areas of accounting, information systems, internal audit, external audit and human resources. The second assignment includes macro-assessment based on public financial management (PFM) reports.

Award For PKF Consulting Canada

PKF’s Canadian hospitality consulting practice was the recipient of Hotelier Magazine’s Pinnacle Award as the “2011 Canadian Hotel Industry Supplier of the Year” in early December 2011. An awards presentation was held at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel Toronto at which PKF was selected for consistently providing advisory services to Canada’s lodging sector for over 40 years.
