V.T.V Damodaran (Senior Office Administrator at PKF Abu Dhabi office) submitted a representation regarding Air India flights to H.E. Vayalar Ravi, Hon. Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs (see photo below) during his recent visit to Abu Dhabi on 12 November 2012 at a meeting organised by the Indian Embassy. Also seen are H.E. M.K. Lokesh, Indian Ambassador to the UAE and Padmashree Mr. Yousuf Ali, M.A.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CHAMPS!
Our Cricket team the PKF Googlies, has done us proud yet again. In the inter-firm cricket tournament organised by the Dubai Chapter of the ICAI, the PKF team led by Brij Patel emerged as winners (see photo below) from among the 19 teams that participated in the event. Fahim Jafferbhoy, Bhavin Patel, Mohit Malkan, Deepak Gupta and Harshit Shroff were the players who contributed in all three aspects of the game. The batting was mind-blowing, the bowling was disciplined and the fielding was outstanding leading the team to comprehensive victories in all their matches.
As part of firm’s annual internal training program, staff from all UAE offices attended annual training sessions held on 10th, 17th, 23rd and 31st October 2012. The training included several sessions on various International Financial Reporting Standards, an insight into anti-money laundering procedures and an overview of IESBA Code of Ethics. Workshop on IFRS for SMEs
PKF staff from Dubai and Abu Dhabi attended a three day workshop on International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities(IFRS for SMEs) which was held in Abu Dhabi from 27-29 November 2012. The workshop was organized by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) and the Arab Society for Certified Accountants (ASCA) in cooperation with the IFRS Foundation. Participants were presented with certificate by Mr. Paul Pacter, IASB member and Chairman of the SME Implementation Group, IASB and Mr. Michael Wells, Director, IFRS Education Initiative, IFRS Foundation.(See picture below)
