NEW CHAIRMAN FOR PKF INTERNATIONAL

Sajjad Akhtar (picture) has been named as Wolfgang Hofmann’s successor as chairman of PKF International (PKFI). He is a chartered accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. Sajjad, managing partner and founding member of PKF-CAP LLP, Singapore, was chairman of PKF’s Asia-Pacific board previously. In an exclusive interview with International Accounting Bulletin, Sajjad said his first priority is to cover network membership gaps, and dismissed the possibility of a global network merger. He also stated that the PKFI Board and members were committed to sustaining PKF as a key mid-tier network and brand.

NEW CHAIRMAN FOR EMEI REGION

Francois Duhau (picture) has been appointed as the PKFI Europe Middle East India (EMEI) Regional Chairman. Francois is Managing Partner of PKF Ampersand, the PKFI member firm in Paris, France and is head of the firm’s auditing activities, its PKFI Liaison Partner, President and official spokesman of the PKF France member firms, and a member of the Arbitration Chamber of Paris.

PKFI has also announced the appointment of John Sim as CEO. John, a Chartered Accountant (Scotland), spent ten years as the Regional Executive Partner for KPMG Asia Pacific with operational responsibility for Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, North Korea and KPMG Regional Consulting and has also worked extensively in the US.

NEW MEMBER FIRM IN UK

PKFI has appointed Littlejohn LLP as a new UK member firm. Based in Canary Wharf, London, Littlejohn LLP  has 32 partners and a strong international outlook. Littlejohn LLPl became a legally independent member of PKF International Limited from 1 July 2013 and  adopt the name PKF Littlejohn LLP.

AND IN VIETNAM TOO….

AFC Vietnam, an established firm of accountants, has been admitted by PKFI as its new member firm in Vietnam. With 130 staff in the firm’s three offices in Hanoi, Ho Chih Minh and Can Tho, AFC Vietnam is strategically poised to grow and play a significant part in the service capabilities of the PKFI network in the Asia Pacific region.
